    Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the difference between a normal VPN box, and a VPN Concentrator, are they basically the same thing but different branding.

Also is a cisco PIX a hardened stand-alone firewall running its own software, or does it do something else.

    Thanks

PIX sits on an appliance which runs it's own secure OS.
Not sure if you can still get a software-only version of it for Windows platforms (persumably you can)

    Isn't PIX a firewall ?
'cos if so then the very last place you want to have it is on a Windows box as it would be undermined by the holes in the OS.

Maybe there is a PIX client for windows ?
