Noticed this in work today too, very irritating, not doing it now so maybe was just the particular ad at the time. If its been fixed already , thanks, loving the new layout btw :)

    Same here.

I did a little experiment. I'm using Firefox as my primary browser so I decided to check and see if the same problem arose with IE. It didn't. So just a Firefox glitch. If you use IE you shouldn't have problems.

    Same with Opera

It's annoying alright. C'mon guys, sort it out. As for using IE, I don't think so.

I had this problem too. The link seems to be changing all the time. When you click to adblock it, instead of adblocking the whole link just put a * after /ads.

This is what should be blocked:
    http://www.star-adserver.com/ads/*

Curses its doing it again with this Top Up Club ad, very very annoying!!

Edit, as req by Dev - Firefox 1.04 running on WinXP SP2.

Ok, we'll try and fix it but we've had this problem before and come up against a blank wall.

Can you ALWAYS put browser and version number on your reports of errrors as it helps enormously...

If anyone can offer help to fix this please speak up as more brains are always helpful.

I can understand why you adblock it but I would ask that you unblock it when its fixed as its part of how we keep the site running... thanks.

    DeV.

    Firefox 1.0 btw.
It seems only to be happening since the "top up club" banner has been in.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,208 ✭✭✭✭aidan_walsh

    Firefox 1.0.4.

It seems to be happening with most of the Flash based adverts I've seen stemming from star-adserver, by the way. There is an o2 one, and a War of the Worlds promo one that are doing the same to me.

I noticed this, and then I tried to reach the feedback forum through the drop down menu.....

    How bitterly Ironic. :(

    But funny none the less.

For Mozilla and Firefox, try FlashBlock.
