Battlefield Etiquette ???

What , if any , is the etiquette ? Just wondering as never really played much of 1942 , and just getting into BF2 this week . ie : assaulting their base , I kinda go with .... bomb it to destroy planes or heli , uav ,radar . parachute in as special forces to blow up same and kill anyone that gets in the way . It cant be taken if there were other flags spawn at them , take the takable ones and win the round.

I was spawning there to get a chopper, cant speak for others, planes maybe?

but I remember because I had to actually change my spawn point from I was previously spawning to the home base.
