Phantom FM awarded licence - Launching Summer 2006!

    Hello all,

    Just got word from the BCI, Phantom FM have been granted the Dublin Alternative Rock licence!

    Absolutely class! Time for a serious party (tonight in the Village from 7).

    Thanks to all for their help and support. Yay!

    In deciding to award you the licence, what did the BCI say, and what was the final criteria used to give it to you ahead of Zed FM?

    BCI Press Release

    Release: Monday 8th November 2004

    LICENSING DECISION FOR DUBLIN CITY AND COUNTY
    ALTERNATIVE ROCK MUSIC SERVICE ANNOUNCED

    The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) today, Monday November 8th, announced its decision with regard to the award of the Alternative Rock Music Service for Dublin City & County.

    This licence has been awarded in principle to the following group:

    PHANTOM FM

    Dublin Rock Radio Limited
    c/o Byrne Moreau & Connell (BMC)
    Burlington House
    Waterloo Lane
    Dublin 4.

    Simon Maher

    The Commission will now commence contract negotiations with the successful applicant group. Further details will be announced at the conclusion of the negotiations.

    Editor’s Note

    The BCI shortlisted two applicants to attend an oral hearing for the alternative rock music licence for Dublin City and County. The hearings took place in the Conrad Hotel, Dublin on 11th October 2004.
