Phantom FM awarded licence - Launching Summer 2006!

Hello all,

Quick update again. Another long day at the four courts! No judge available this morning so case didnt get started until 2pm today. At least it is finally underway though. Basically, this afternoon was made up of the opening statement by the legal guys for Zed FM laying out the grounds of their appeal and going through the first affadavit.

All adjourned at 4pm and back in again at 11am next Tuesday for more. Will probably take another day and a half. Will keep you all posted and thank you kindly for the kind words and encouragement.

Hello all,

Very quick update once again. Full day in court today with Zed FM continuing to set out their case along expected lines. Followed this afternoon by cross examination. Tomorrow should see the end of the case and should be able to give a more detailed report at that stage.

Nothing to report today. Judge was absent ill so we didnt get a hearing today. We try again tomorrow morning at 10.30. It goes on and on!

Hey sorry Pete for the mail the other day. Just realised that I completely misread the date! D'oh. We're all wishin' and hopin' and waitin' and all that as the song goes...
Any chance that we could get "the majestics" to play the phantom launch gig? Would they be up for it Fi?
Would it be cruel to ask the Boomtown Rats to reform for the launch?

Hello all,

So we finally got the hearings finished today. Basically was the continuation of the legal submissions by the BCI side followed by the reply from Zed FM/Scrollside. All very interesting stuff, which I will happily give a view on after the case is over

The judge has, as expected, reserved judgement and will give his verdict on Wednesday November 9th, almost a year to the day since the original decision was made. Will keep you all posted and thanks again for the interest.

Hello all,

On the topic of appeals, it all depends on what the judgement says on November 9th. While it is of course theoretically possible that Zed will appeal (if they lose of course!), a strong legal or consititutional point is required to go to the Supreme Court and its very very expensive to do so.

Time will tell, lets just wait and see.

Really quick update this time! The judge in the case has brought forward his judgement and will now deliver his verdict tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 10.30am. We will keep you posted and let you know immediately when we have news.
