    Jarvis reports on a comment by Gavin O'Reilly made at a World Association of Newspapers event recently:
    I think participative journalism is a dangerous precedent for our industry. People forget that newspapers have always been an interactive medium, people have always been able to interact with us through the mailbag.

    Backwards they go.

    It's the same thing with the commercial radio stations here.

    FM104 and 98FM genuinely think they are providing a voice to the communities of Dublin with the Adrian Kennedy show and other late night phone in shows.

    Murdoch said the opposite recently. And his company is spending a billion euros on new presses. So, either he's a liar or a fool.

    The prudent should probably adopt a wait and see approach.
