nokia 6630 memory card gone corrupt :mad:

Hi its monday as usual

what happened today i was using my phone<Nokia 6630> as normal suddenly all the applications dissapeared the ones which were installed on memory card

i just couldnt open my pictures music and the theme wasent even loading

what i did i restarted the phone and then tried to format the card it says that the card is corroupt

i tried several times its still the same

i connected my mobile to me laptop so i can format the card via laptop but it dosent show the memory card on laptop

then i searched through the web and came to know that there is a whole world out there having this issue sooner or later

i called vodafone and the girl<who had no idea about phones and memory cards she was asking me to take the sim out and reinsert the sim > told me to take the phone to the shop and they will give me another card

i am going to take it to shop and going to ask them to replace it
i will try to format in via card reader see if that helps

has anyone came accross this corrouption issue in mmc i know its happening and i know there will b someone who has faced this

i hate mondays ........... :mad:
any sugessions ??

Happend to me twice. There is an app, apparently helps - called MMC medic. Give it a try?

Both times with me, it still worked in the phone, but wasnt recognised by mmc readers or pcs. However - When I stuck it into an Ngage, it worked fine through USB - so thats how I transfered stuff to my mmc from my pc

so did you have to buy new card or that card is still working
i have heard about mmc medic is it free to try or u have to buy that

i dont know what to do now i am stuck

did that mmc medic worked for anyone
or will ir b best to take it to vodafone and ask them to replace it

MMC Medic did not work for me.

The card still worked, but only in the phone - MMC readers would not pick it up at all. They gave Card corrupted read error.

I'd say try get a replacement if you can.

now the situation got mor worsei didnt had a card reader and i inserted the card in my friends hp printer card reading slot and it got stuck there
i inserted it in sd card slot took it out with needels and siscors

and the ****ing thing has got few marks on it

now vodafone has a good enough xcuse not to replace it
how much is the cheapest card lets say 256 one or 128 one
looks like that i have to put a hand in my pocket now


any sugessions

or anyone selling his 32 mb card for cheap price
i am sure loadz of people will sell coz they will buy the
256 one


any idea which forum i can request memory card

The little tiny metal shim that came in the box - you attach that to the mini-MMC to plug it into a normal reader... if you get it in and it gets stuck, you can sometimes get the shim in too and still get them out fine.
