Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know it's not Champions League but there are a few fans of the Toon on boards who may be interested in this:

    Intertoto Cup Semi-Final 3 — First Leg
Deportivo La Coruña -VS- Newcastle United
    Wednesday, 27 July — 8.00 — Live: Sky Sports 1

This morning British Eurosport was publicising a live broadcast of this match aswell but this afternoon they dropped it. Very strange!

I don't think I've seen a live match on Eurosport and on Sky Sports before. Both their sites are publicising it.

Excellent :) was dying to watch that match. although I hear that Scott Parker, Emre and Jermaine Jenas are all out of the game.

Might be a struggle for Newcastle. But Depor are not on the best run recently

The Celtic CL match kicks off at 7.00 on Wednesday night not 7.30 as previously stated.

Doubt it. They usually tell viewers to switch over to analog and even viewers in Scotland can't get the match on satellite.

Third Qualifying Round — First Leg
    Manchester United -VS- Debrecen
    Tuesday, 09 August — 8.05 — Live: BBC1

One of the rare occasions you'll see Champions League footy on the Beeb.
Setanta Ireland is showing one on Tuesday also. Not sure who it is yet (Rangers possibly). Should Liverpool progress, their second leg will be on TV3 on 23 August. First leg (10 August) will probably be on Sky Sports but not yet announced.

    7:30 pm
    Sportscene
Celtic FC v FC Artmedia Bratislava: Live coverage of the second leg of Celtic's second-round Champions League qualifying tie against Artmedia Petrzalka at Celtic Park, Glasgow. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

Assume it means it be on the other channels on Sky, Sportscene on in 10 minutes anyway.

The celtic match is also on BBC 2 Scotland.

If you have Sky Digital I refer you to Satellite tuning thread for information on how to tune it in.

It's not a bad match either BTW :)

Will Sky Sports be starting back with full Champions league coverage from the third round on?

They can only bid for the qualifiers. The new live CL TV rights for 2006-07 + should be announced in August. They have put in a bid although it is expected to remain with Sky and ITV in Britain.

Sky Sports won't really dominate the CL scene until the group stages commence. ITV get first two picks at live Tues matches while Sky get the rest. On Wed nights Sky get them all. In Ireland TV3 get Tues and RTÉ2 get Weds. During the qualifiers Sky have to bid on individual matches live like all other broadcasters.

What will happen if Shels qualify for the Champions League group stages.

    What would RTE do? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,746 ✭✭✭Drag00n79

If that did happen, I'm sure RTÉ2 and TV3 would be delighted with their viewing ratings for Shelbourne.
