Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Then all the cd will do for you would be to let you reinstall. Its got a file transfer console which is handy enough tho :)

Thats not true - it will let you access the repair console too.

Not that I've ever found it much use.

Its worth bearing in mind that if its something simple like a missing boot sector then the repair console might help.

Yeah but anything else its usless. Anyone know something to fix a corrupt MBR? This keeps happening to me

    Fdisk /MBR - dos / win 9x
    www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm (26 729 bytes): ...

you can also use dd in linux to backup the partition table
man gpart gpart is a linux app that takes a guess at where a deleted partition is , one of those real lifesaver utils.

Or if it is just not booting - format a floppy with XP and copy C:\ntldr, C:\ntdetect.com and c:\boot.ini on to it - bypass the HDD boot sector ;)
