    Got sorted, it wasn't a full fail.
    They needed a deposit on the account because we're new customers or something

    Is it possible that the quality of BT is gonna go to hell now with so many new customers or am I just being paranoid? They're by far the best option out there and I wanna get them asap.

    Eircom control the infrastructure so if BT goes to hell then eircom/UTV will go to hell as well.

    If eircom font have the bandwidth in reserve then well all know about it in the next two weeks.

    The only reason to go with UTV over BT these days are due to contract obligations and the fact that their phone offer of free offpeak within Ireland/UK.
    Other than that BT just blows away the competition away in ireland anyway...though on an international scale...its still pretty pathetic as €40 a month would easily get you 3/0.75 in Canada!!!

    Am I right in saying the following

    Eircom - (current phone a/c) - e40 for line rental - no bb
    == 40*2(line) + 30*2 (bb) = 140e every 2 months
    OR
    BT - e50 - bb plus + line rental.
    == 50*2 (line + BB) = 100e every 2 months

    plus calls on both of course !!

    What are BT phone call rates like.

    For 1Mbit Broadband:

    Eircom(BB+Line Rental)
    40+24.18=€64.18 (they never dropped the price for old customers)
    if you sign up now then you pay (30+24.18) €54.18

    BT(BB+LIne Rental Bundle)
    €40

    The difference becomes more noticeable with 2Mbit:
    Eircom(BB+Line Rental)
    54.45+24.18=€78.63

    BT(BB+LIne Rental Bundle)
    €50

    Basically if you want a 2Mbit connection and decide to go with eircom...then you are bonkers!!!
