3 Mariah songs and 1 Killers? ....there's summat wrong here!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

That Mariah Carey performance was pathetic, really awful. Nothing against her or people who like her, but she just ****ing destroyed the atmosphere.

Looking at the Paris feed, the crowd are chanting "placebo". I'd give anything to see them live in a place like Paris. They seem so french, but I don't think any of them are.

exactly, whats worse is my Dad loves her and my granny was talking during the killers

mariah carey should be murdered, or at least have her voice box removed.

Sting was brilliant. Roll on Floyd and The Who

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭RVN10

    ya come on pink floyd

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 565 ✭✭✭zokrez

I can imagine what it was like backstage when Mariah asked for mike stand -

Geldof: ...don't bring the stand on

    She was crap.

Are Queen playing in Barcelona ?

I'm afraid we'll have to wait through whats i'm sure to be an epic speech from David Beckham

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 565 ✭✭✭zokrez

Beckham has got a bigger cheer from the crowd than most of the bands.

However Beckham can barely string 4 sentences together. More cursing to follow from Robbie !

Oh good that gay guy, who was on earlier.

There are two people I wish were there tonight. Freddie Mercury and John Lennon.

The night is really gonna be lacking something without Freddie Mercury involved. And in my opinion, every day is lacking something without Lennon.

I dont think Robbie Williams should be such a main act either. Seems a bit stupid. Its like they are trying to make him the Freddie replacement.

Ah but Draupnir the Proles seem to like him and thats what counts !!

    Come on freddie

Can you not even think up a better insult? We're not living in 1995.

being gay is not an insult, you should learn to accept queers.

Robbie Williams, have to say, he is a good entertainer but hes a bit one dimensional and not much of a singer. I just dont think hes of the standard to be a headliner at the biggest event in the history of the world really.

He will get the crowd going though, hes a firm favourite with sing along, jump around, not very good music.

    He is brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭endac1

For whatever reason he seems to be the only one who
has got the crowd really going.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

Placebo were ****ing great, only did two songs. And Brian has good hair again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Draupnir

Brilliant entertainer, i have to agree. But his music is pants, in my opinion.

Plus, hes a bit of an egomaniac, its become a Robbie Williams gig rather than a Charity event all of a sudden.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭RVN10

    Ya he has

Robbie williams guitarist slightly resembles michael jacksons lawyer, methinks. And the female keyboard player seems hot.

    Come on pink flooooyyyyyd!

Really disappointed with Velvet Revolver. Nothing went right for them.

Yeah thats about right. He's a great entertainer, and for the sake of rousing the crowd he should be there but not with so much importance placed on him.

Also, did anyone see the interview of him with Fern earlier. Was/is he drunk/stoned or is he just sleazy?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Robbie Williams may be cheesier than a tonne of Brie but he can work a large crowd.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Draupnir

i think he was mangled when he was talking to Fern, but fair dues, I would give her three of the best myself.

Robbie doing Angels, one of his few top level songs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭RVN10

Ya he certainly can fair play to him

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

He really can work a crowd, but I seriously doubt he even knows where he is.

Hes such a pompus prick, so full of himself, I'm really glad he failed so much in America.

Oasis would of been BRILLIANT for this, where the **** are they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

First lighter song of the night !!!! At least the crowd is coming to life again !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭Dinner

Ah, it was bound to come. Angels. I have to say that I do have a soft spot for that song. Still didnt deserve to be voted best song in the last 15 years though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 265 ✭✭klingklang

Really disappointed with Velvet Revolver. Nothing went right for them.
    Particularly their lead singer!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭RVN10

    Tis a good song

Not a fan, but Faithless in Berlin are very good. Live streaming from all the gigs, apart from the one I want to see in Cornwall  here

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

This really shows the type of people who attended Live 8 in London.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Have to say one thing that song gets the good looking women up on the mens shoulders, Robbie I take all the bad things I have said about you back :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭endac1

The guy who sings that "everybody's gotta learn sometime" drink-drivin ad is on now in Paris.
    Rock on!

I think he was off his face too.

At least Robbie made a small reference to the Make Poverty History campaign by thanking Bob Geldof. How up himself is that guy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,132 ✭✭✭Dinner

    Oh no. Peter Kay.

EDIT: If he sings amirillo, I may well cry. I hate that song.

No not a fan myself, but Faithless can really rule when they want to.

Heres this unfunny fat **** Peter Kay, speaking of "comedians", I havent seen any of those little film things from Gervais, anyone else seen them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

What the **** is this idiot doing? While hes wasting time trying to be funny and promoting that terrible song they could be showing a video about Africa, or let someone who qualifies as a human being perform.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,677 ✭✭✭Chong

Peter Kay he's brilliant , Pink Floyd oh how I cant wait
