curious...

to my knowledge, the only people with custom avatars are the admins (so we can easily be identified and not easily be impersonated, plus its a perk of the job.)

This is not so much a custom avatar as an outside image.... even stranger...

I'll look into it when I'm not multitasking to hell....

If you do want to stop people doing it:
1] Modify the script so it checks all images originate from boards.ie
2] Modify the script so it takes in a numerical value, which is then referenced against an array
3] Modify the script to check "if not ((on approved list) or (moderator)) deny"

I changed my avatar (I'll change it to something smaller) in the event that Devore locks it off but lets me have my custom avatar for letting him know how to do it. (The Jess T-Shirt was for a friend, so I can't change it).

Ok, so yer all very clever.

some things to note:

1. Dont post how anywhere. If I find people making this public on boards or on irc I'll be all "grrrrrrr" about it.

2. DONT squish an image into the avatar. it should be no more then 32x32 pixels which my my reckoning shouldnt be bigger then 1k.
(several of you are already squishing bigger images into the avatar..., thats not bad for our bandwidth as it comes from the hosting machine but it WILL make boards seem more sluggish to the users). One person has an 11K image squished into his profile and thats just nuts.

We'll get it fixed when we can. Until then I dont have time to stop every muppet with Gif_Animator and the undoubt porn freaks who will follow.
