Like the Johnny Cash version But the NIN version just beats it.Has a corrosive sound to it the video is of a fox decomposing.

Like the two versions the NIN version has the edge but would agree that the Johnny Cash video has the better visuals they make more of an impact.

The Smiths, Tim Buckley, Leonard Cohen can be depressing, if you happen to be already in that frame of mind. But they are all genius.

Gloomy sunday. The Billie holiday version is the best. It got banned from the radio for years as it was blamed for loads of suicides.

    Either
Radiohead - Street Spirit [Fade Out]
    or
Francis Henry Lyte - Abide With Me

Nothin else comes close to the depressing effect of these two. Great songs tho, 2 of my faves.

anything by waiting room (cork band - despite being pretty miserable they're v good :P).

yeah, hallelujah by jeff b is definitely up there, especially the live version on... eh... can't remember the name of the live album. "oh mother, i can feel the soil falling over my head..." - beautiful though.

how to disappear completely by radiohead wins tho, hands down.

One from the archives. Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles. Only 2 mins long, encapsulating lonelyness and the futility of life for some. Apparently Sam Beckett liked it. Nuf said.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
