Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've got eircom's Netopia 3347 wireless router set up to use 128bit WEP encryption. I succesfull configured my dell laptop which has an inbuilt wifi card to connect to it but i am having trouble configuring the netopia usb adapter on an old toshiba laptop to talk to the router.

while the Netopia technical specification says it supports 128 WEP:
    http://www.netopia.com/bellsouth/10...irels_Adpt1.pdf

all i can find is the option to configure it using 40 or 104 bits and therefore cant connect!! (see attached)

Anyone manage to configure it correctly??

I seem to recall that several bits in the WEP key were 'preamble' bits which were not part of the key itself. Some configuration interfaces therefore display your choices as a 128 bit key (including 'preamble') and some as 104 bit (where they acknowledge that only 104 bits are the actual key).

To answer your question therefore, the '128 bit' setting on one device corresponds to the '104 bit' setting on the other. Should work
