I've decided I love Cork, even after the disappointment of me not being able to find any good guitar related gear the last time.
I had a much better time when I had a guide...

So what does your City have to offer me once I leave Limerick behind in a couple of years?

I've noticed some gothy girls walking around, one of them had a Sisters of Mercy shirt, so do you have a REAL goth scene there?

Does Cash Converters EVER get decent guitars in?

Is there another music shop besides Pro Musica, that one between Pro Musica and the station, and the one just outside Cash Converters? This is important.

Are there good places for 20 somethings to go to mix with interesting not-mature people, as that will be the age I will be at that stage(well, 21)?

Do you think I'll be able to drag my stoner metal head guitarist, Danny, down there? What does your city have to offer him? I can't live without band stuff, man.

What are the house/flat prices like?

Are there any forest type places around Cork?(also VERY impotant)

These are all important factors. Thanks.

i have no idea on what the goth scene is like in cork, so i'm not much help.
(although i can tell you that i have never seen a really good guitar in cash converters! probably better off ordering online tbh)

house prices can be fairly reasonable if you live away from the centre and from ucc/cit. www.daft.ie is not a bad place to start.

i can also assure you that most people here are more helpful than dahamsta seems to be....

    Slightlt less violence.

    No.

    Afraid not.

    Yes one or two.

Drugs are readily avaible in most schools or colleges...but remember drugs are bad, really bad.

    See link.

Forestry is in abundence once you break the oppresive shackles of the city.
These are all important factors. Thanks.
    Your welcome.

Cork isn't a great place, in fact its bloody awful, however for some reason i love the place, probably cause i know on a night out i'll run into a load of people i havent seen in ages and get to have the crack with them. Even if where we are has nothing to offer us in the way of entertainment.
If you have friends here or you make friends easily than you'll have a laugh, if you want to go to a city that'll cater for your specific tastes-whatever they may be- than try dublin its not perfect but it makes an effort. In short if you have a problem socialising with people who haven't a clue/not intrested in your taste of music/lifestyle/food than cork isn't a great place to be. I go clubbing almost weekly even though i hate the music and would much rather be listening to trivium or KSE, but as mentioned above ....friends!

Edit* This is only my humble opinion feel free to criticise/ban me as you see fit :)

I'll call round your gaff and pack your bags then. I'll even drive you to the train station and sit there with a shotgun just to make sure you board the train ok. I'm that nice.

    That is all.

*Edit: Actually no that is not all, lets be realistic about things while our lovely city is transforming before our eyes we cannot say its great now based either on what it will be or what it was. Cork was once a vibrant city with plenty to do. It will be again -SOON! However right now it is not. It is still a building site. Our streets are still dug up and the place still smells. The main drainage is nessceary but very bloody annoying.
