Digital Memory problem

I have a digital camera (oregan scientific ds 6688) I bought a 512mb mmc card for it,but whenever i go to take a photo it wont let me and says 'memory card protected' but the card will work in everything else. Can anyone help me out?

I don't know your particular camera, but given that the card works in other devices I would get the camera checked out - could it be possible that it does not support 512Mb cards (some cameras have a max of 256MB). Otherwise check with the camera manufacturer if they have a firmware update available, as this may solve the problem of compatibility.
