Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I'm looking for a hi-cap. batt. for my Sony VAOI.

It a VGN-FS295VP. I've seen some batts. on Ebay which have a 7200 Mah capacity (The std. batt. is 4400).

Has anybody any experience of these batts.?

    Many Thanks

    Kevin

    what battery make/model?

    the only one Sony would recommend is VGPBPL2.CE7 [ 79.92Wh (11.1V/7200mAh) ]
i'd tend to go with Sony... despite the price..
reasoning: VAIO + other major manufacturers' computers won't actually boot with another brand battery + obvious warranty issue if the battery leaked,etc.. (there a lot of fakes out there)

    Hi Karoma,

The orig. batt. type is: VGP-BPS2A it’s a 4400mAh batt.

Interesting comment about VAIO not even booting with a 3rd party batt.!! Is this from experience?

The price difference is massive; some outlets in the UK are charging 240sterling for the 7200mAh while some 3rd party batts. cost around $120

I know its false economy if the 3rd party batt does not work! But I would have thought a batt. is a batt. I know the quality of the cells can be an issue, if 3rd party batts do not work, the batt. must have some form of data comms. with the laptop??

    Many Thanks

    Kevin

Not that's any help, but the same goes for RAM. Sony charges over €300 for 512MB expansion (I have an A series). Crucial however, guarantee it to work, etc., for the specific model, and they do 1GB SODIMM 200 pin for €140. Same difference for batteries I would say, as long as you get some sort of warranty from it.
