Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problems connecting to dell router

    Hi,
I've been having serious problems over the last couple of days setting up my wireless router (dell 2350).
I've got a dell inspiron 9200 ~(bought in the states) and the guy i live with has a 9300 which is basically the same thing.
the ISP is smarttelecom but i don't think thats relevant as i can connect to the internet fine throught a wired connection.

the problem is though when my flatmate scans for the wireless networks in range it shows up while when i scan it's nowhere to be seen. i can even pick up other wireless networks in the apartment block and can even connect to the unsecure ones.
Could it have something to do with the fact that i bought my laptop in the states??
I think it might be something to do with the ip assigned to my wireless card??
I have DHCP enabled on my laptop.

I'm pretty clueless when i comes to IP stuff.

any advice would be much appreciated.

    cheers

depends on the channels you have the router set to and also what the wireless can pick up do you ssid enabled or disabled.

Wireless networking hardware in Europe can select from a total of 13 channels, USA/Canada 11. It *could* be that the wireless router has been set to the last two channels, and your WiFi hardware cannot detect the channels used.

Try changing the settings in the router to use one which your hardware can detect.
