Grass cuttings - what can I do with them?

Our house has a large(ish) garden, by semi-detached standards, and we will have use for only some of the grass cuttings that it produces.

Apart from those we use for a compost heap, what can we do with the rest?

Is there somewhere (Dublin, southside, preferably) that we could bring them?

Worst case scenario, we will bin them and just pay the fee for the extra weight.

But, if there is a central delivery point for this sort of thing, I'd love to hear about it.

    Thanks.

    D.

Dublin City council used to take grass cuttings at recycling centres as far as I know. But they dont anymore,I asked a guy in recycling centre one day did they take grass cuttings etc...

He said they will be introducing it again shortly.I will be in recycling centre tomorrow so I will ask someone and let you know for sure.

Yes, I would like to know what he says.

I'd like to think they could be put to some use.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Dinarius.

Don't put yourself to all this trouble. Instead cut the grass frequently so you don't have too many clippings . When you cut the grass, leave the clippings on the lawn. The worms will drag them back down into the soil, thereby restoring and improving it. You won't have to take the stuff anywhere.
