    Hi,

I harde somewhere that a UK TV will not always work in Ireland because of a different standard. At least that was happening in the past.

Is that still the case these days with new TV`s?

    Cheers,
    DSAB

Uk tv's normally only recieve UHF signals. RTE etc broadcast in VHF, in most areas. TV3 broadcasts UHF. Unless you have Cable etc etc.... they broadcast in UHF. You can get a convertor fairly cheaply I think.

Try the samsung LE26R41B. 26" screen and gets good reviews everywhere. Pixmania do it for 950 euro delivered.

yeah thats the problem - they may or not work, depending on the tuner. These days though it's more likely that the manufacturers will build one model with [V|U]HF combined tuner for both markets rather than seperate models for the Irish market.
Check out the spec sheet of the set, or the manual should defo have the specs.
