Costellos on saturday nights is the place for decent music now in Limerick. It's not exactly termites but there are a few familiar faces.

That place was ok when it first opend up. I remember
going there when I was still at school thinking the music was OK,
and all the alternative types went there,

Being into an alternatice scene myself
    Termights/Costellos/Quinns were the only places
any goths could go and stand a chance of hearing
a band that may have some relivance to the scene like Joy Division,
Sisters of Mercy or Siouxsie Sioux.

(When I use the word goth I mean
actual goth goths and not the spooky kids that wear the makeup and
listen to metal music and think they are listening to goth music)

After a few years of hearing the same tracks over and over and over again
and seeing more and more Kiddies acting well like Kids It got tireing.
They are probably still playing the same Pixies songs!!!

For us folks that grew up in termights (I'm 29 now) there was no alternative place
to go. I stopped going about 5-6 years ago as I got sick of it.
I dropped in a few months back to see what it was like and basically
there was only about 20 poeple there.
Some of the older crowd still go but look like perverts chatting up
teenagers when they may be in their 30's.

there was a split 3-4 years back where
any of the bikers/metalers tended to goto the HIgh stool and stay away from
Termights, but now that high stool is closed I think they head to costellos now.

Any Doom Cookies/Sk8rs/alternatives/crusties etc tend to still hang
about there but they look so yound and behave so childish its hard to believe
that at one stage I may have been like them. (I am old and grumpy now
and tend to drink my few cans next to a nice warm fire in front of the TV)

You're thinking of the "new" termights in the globe. The old one shut down nearly 2 years ago. It used to be above the Savoy Cinema.

funny you mention it, the savoy was levelled only at the weekend. Gone is the institution that was termites. The new place in the globe hasn't a notch on it. Like one of the lads just said, costelloes is the place now. Head to the wicked chicken for some good times before hand, that'll get ya hummin

It's been knocked! Jaysus. That's the great thing about not living in Limerick for awhile. You come back every so often and loads of things have changed.

Damn my spelling is crap, just looked at all the mistakes in my last post.

Costellos still has the same Seat covers it had on the seats when
I was 16!!!!!! They are filthy. Got a pint in there about two weeks ago
    and it was Warm!.
Still with that said it was one of my favourite hang outs as you could
chill on the leather sofa and watch the telly. It was like it was actually
    part of their living room.

Wicked chicken was also a nice spot. Heard it re-opened recently.

Yeah the old Savoy termights was good enough, but I've been told to avoid the one in Globe. I dunno why they did that though, open a club in a different building, with different layout, plays different music and attracts a different crowd and then call it termights?
Savoy isn't so much knocked. Its more like there's a massive hole in the side of it!

The great thing about Costello's is the carpet. Have a look at it when the lights come on at the end of the night. It looks like it belongs in some granny's living room but actually no it's in a nightclub and it's manky. Costello's does have the best smoking area in Munster though, the couch in the middle of it is excellent.

Bullets, by any chance did you work in analog or do you still I know a guy that worked with a guy called bullets in analog.
