Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Didn't like this episode as much as others, but I found the creation of golf on the island to be very amusing.

Hope ya don't mind qz but I added spoiler tags...
The golf game is a funny addition so it's best if no-one knows about it before hand... although the golf club thing in the synopsis kinda gives it away...
... best bet is for no-one who's seen the episode to reply before the episode is shown on RTE folks :)

Sorry about that, just assumed with the spoiler warnings that I could fire away, but you've got a good point.

    Good episode. I liked the
    whispers
    at the end.

    that was excellent!

really liked how it introduces a new part to the series(being suitably vague here)

i was a bit worried when Sayid said that nadia was dead, way to kill the plot
still fascinating backstory though with a nice open end.

the ending with the whispers was excellent, just ended really unexpectedly for me though :(

My favourite lines from that episode:

    Sayid: But you loved him.
Danielle: He was sick. They all were.
Sayid: You killed all of them.
Danielle: I had to. What if we had been rescued? I couldn't let that happen.

Make of that what you will...

Yeah.. actually i liked this episode more after seeing it again tonight! The golf course scenes were fantastic, of course!

But probably still one of my least favourite episodes of the series - along with "House Of The Rising Sun".. but even a poor 'Lost' episode is pretty damn excellent! :D

Roll on Claire's backstory next week!

Claire's and Hurley's are the best backstories. But Hurley's is better than Claire's!

1 more for good measure :D
Outside Casa de Sawyer, Kate's staring off into the middle distance, as if trying to encourage a flashback; unfortunately, she's already used her allotment of Season One flashbacks, so no Beckinsaliana is forthcoming.

baasquille: in future episodic posts like this one, can you post a random quote from the twop review alongside it, possibly replacing the tv.com plot synopsis(it kinda sucks how spoilery it is)

    Excellent episode.
To my fellow B5 fans, a welcome return to the actress who played Delean.

I liked this episode. It introduced the lore of the island - things that become important later on. Black Rock, The Others....

I thought this episode was one of the worst in the flashback kind of sense... Sayid is a fairly boring character imo... He's alright on the island but his backstory just bored the hell out of me in both of the Sayid central episodes...

The things on the island were good, which I think kind of made up for it... Good to see Danielle finally in the Irish episodes :)

All in all a fairly average episode but one that introduces the main points for the rest of the series...

    WHISPERS!!!

This was also the 2nd episode with a flashback that didn't place the character in Australia. I like they way they're mixing it up like that. The power source is still a mystery also and what was the cable into the sea about?

Sayid also says "I am willing to make that sacrifice" which is what the GLA suicide bombers say in the game Command & Conquer: Generals.
