Speed Test

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place but the people who post regularly in this forum are probably more knowledgeable about these things than most. If a mod wants to move it, thats no problem :D
I am currently building a website and I would like to add a speed test to it. I was wondering how much bandwidth would it use aprox.?
I currently have a bandwidth allowance of 124GB per month for the site and that increases by 1GB per week as part of the hosting plan. Would a speed test facility suck all of that or is it more than enough?
The site will be hosted in the states so I know it wouldn't be as accurate as Blacknights' but I would just like to add some functionality to the site.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks :D

Jesus, what would you possibly need more that 124Gb a month for?
    Except a porn site, obviously...

im sure they only use small packets and measure responce times so i'd be inclined to say that you won't get above 1GB!

a single popular game server could get close to or exceed that.
add a website, or voice server and its easy.

a bandwidth tester shouldnt use much unless it uses 25mb test files and is used by hundreds each day lol.

:D Not porn. If it was I wouldnt need to worry about adding functionality :D
I have a small home based PC repair business and this is my first attempt to set up a website (harder than I thought). The hosting plan came with 120GB and has gone up to 124GB since I signed up a month ago. The hosting space also goes up by 20MB per week (started at 2400MB). They are giving their level 1 one plan for the same price as their level 2 plan. Here are the details

You can't measure speed by sending little packets and measuring response time. You have to send at least 512kB of data to each computer and time how long it takes. Obviously the more data you send, the more accurate the result. I'd think the sweet spot would be 15 seconds of data transmission. I.e. set it up to send data for 15 seconds, and find out how much is actually sent.
