Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Korean Film Festival 2005
    Friday, 22 July 2005 - Sunday, 28 August 2005

Over the past decade, South Korean cinema has undergone a remarkable transformation. A new generation of filmmakers revitalised the industry by breathing new life into a wide range of genres, from big-budget action capers through serious dramas and art movies to subversive comedies. Significantly, the extraordinary growth in production has been matched by support from local audiences, with Korean films regularly beating Hollywood blockbusters at the home box-office. At the same time, Korean films have begun to feature prominently at international film festivals, with two major wins at Cannes confirming the high achievements of directors such as Im Kwon-taek and Park Chan-wook.
This festival showcases a selection of recent work and includes three classic films from the 1960s. The festival itself is a touring package selected from the annual Sheffield Korean Film Festival. We have added six other recent titles to provide a broader perspective on one of the world’s most exciting and prolific film industries.
