Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Screen problems on Toshiba Portege R100

Ok, it looks like the screen is fecked on my "newish" laptop.

The laptop was purchase 4 months ago, has been working perfectly, has not been subjected to any abuse and has not had any falls, spills on it or similar.

Basically, when I looked at the laptop today after coming back from a walk, I had let it "sleeping" while I was gone to recharge the battery some bit, the screen seemed damaged. The image on most of the screen is fine, there are two problem areas on it.

    1) On the right hand side from about the middle upto the top, coming in about two centimeters is a black area devoid of image. The side of it is perfectly straight, the bottom of it is a bit jagged and slanted downwards.

    2) In the bottom right, the screen is completely blurred and seems to be showing a different image than the rest of the screen. ie i can make out a busy pointer in there running from bottom to top of this area and then repeating this.

Would I be right in thinking that the screen was faulty and that I'll be getting some use out of my warranty.

iirc with Toshibas it's at least a two year warrenty. Would I be correct in assuming a problem like this would be covered by it?

Edit: Searched around for the details, 3 year warranty :)
