one know anywhere that teaches tattoing? or apprenticeships?

    im a classically trained illustrator n want to get into tattooing, any advice? if you wanna see my work go to the comics board n look at the inkers/colourists post

    Hang about at studios get to know some tattooists, or I suggest trying "The Foggy Dew" on a Friday evening as well and looking out for the heavily tattooed crew that are in there, you cant miss them, normally about 8:30 or so a few of them will be there.
    If they get to know you and see some of your work etc then maybe someone will offer you an apprenticeship if you are persistent but not annoying.

    Yeah i would love to get an apprenticeship as a piercer, unlike other professions like plumbing/carpentry or even hairdressing there are no facilities to let you "learn the trade". I was considering trying to pierce my ear or eye brow but sense kicked in eventually, if i messed up id be sorry, wasnt gonna risk it. But what else can you do besides ask in places????

    I'd like to get an apprentice as a piercer, I've always toyed with the idea, my piercer advised me to go to college first and see how I get on...plus my parents would probably kick me out...but we'll see how it goes in september...although i'm seriously considering it now..!

    yeah i tried to pierce my nose with a carving knife one night when i was pissed, my girlfriend saved me though, pity

    I don't even now where I'd start if I was trying to pierce with a carving knife.....it seems more like surgery...not to mind dangerous...odd...

    wasnt so much that i set out to use a carving knife delibratly more just the nearest pointy implement, was just gonna use the point and prick through then put a ring in, good reason to stay away from polish stomache vodka!
