Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ok, my boyfriend asked me about anal sex a while back, and since i was curious myself, i agreed to try. just wondering does anyone have any advice?
i know all the usual, plenty of lube, fingers first, take it slow etc.
any recommendations on the easiest positions to try first?
what about hygiene? i know moving from the anus to the vagina is a bad idea, but should we use condoms? (he was a virgin and i've been tested so we dont use them normally)

what about prostate stimulation for him? keen to give it a go but im not sure how to find it. did some searches but didn't turn up much info on it, does anyone have any tips or know any good sites?
i feel its only fair that if he gets to go in that way so do i!

If your comfortable with it by all mean give it a try! You are on the right line with the lube and taking it slow, using condoms and not moving between the vagina and the anus, doggy style is probably the best way to try it initially but make sure your partner knows that he has to be really carefull and responsive to your input. You might even enjoy it.
As a guy I can tell you that most guys will want to try it with a partner, but after the initial thrill the novelty will wear off and it will be back to business as usual.

Look at the movie Road Trip. No, seriously... the nurse scene with Stiffler... 3 fingers...

The male prostate can be reached analy. It's a "ball" shaped thing behind where his penis is.

    /edit

Its also sometimes called the "Male G-Spot"

Face to face can make it easier to be responsive, easier to start penetration, less painful and more intimate. Not that that's the "right way" either.

It is worth considering using condoms, even if you don't normally, since it reduces the risk of infections from fecal matter.

You sure? My understanding (i.e. no direct experience) is that this is the least comfortable position.

Saw a show on channel 4 which recommended the following: (yer one with the lisp who does loads of sex shows (can't remember her name))
    anyway:

lots of lube (though not KY, as it's apparantly sticky)

1 finger for about a minute, then 2 for a minute, then 3, then off you go.

    GL, HF.

This is were my experience differs, dont usually depend on C4 for tips on intimate experience, On top flat out is a bit to uncomfortable for the woman, maybe legs against shoulders. but from behind DS or face Down(woman) is what I thought most enjoyable for both parties when endulging, couldnt be arsed with it now though... :D novelty wore off

On her back, ankles touching her earlobes.
Firm, but gentle, lube of some sort.

Not an expert, but apparently the best position is receptor on her side, legs well apart, knees drawn forward. Think doctors surgery.

A few drinks to loosen you up both mentally and physically can help enormously.

Woman on top facing away from the guy can be a good position to try it in because it gives you full control of how deep he goes etc. Try to just get the head in at first and let your muscles get used to that much for a minute before going any further... clitoral stimulation at the same time will help too :)

Aside from that you seem to have the right ideas yourself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Selik

I've always found good ol' doggy style to be the best for anal sex but maybe that's just me! Seriously though go slow and use loads and loads of lube and either use a comdom or have a shower before and after (just makes it nicer obviously... :D)

Have fun anyway all the girls I've ever done it with have enjoyed it and you're clearly keen on expanding your sexual horizons so best of luck...

P.S. Be sure to let us know how it goes! ;)

Actually, I have heard that you definitely shouldn't drink before trying something like this as you feel less pain when you've had a few and this could lead to you hurting yourself without realising it until the drink wears off. So, in this situation maybe find another way to make sure you're relaxed beforehand i.e. a nice warm bath.

I wouldn't say exactly covered but there can be some "residue", yes.

Never thought of that, but I know an ex of mine always thought it helped her enjoy it more. In fairness though, anal is something you need to do very gently so it's not something that should cause any damage... though from some of the porn I've seen I've often wondered how the girls don't end up in serious pain from the jackhammering they take...

You shouldn't have anal sex until you are 100%ly sure that both of you are of an absolute health because you both can get enormous infections very easily through anal sex.
The second thing is that you must not let him put you under preassure:
Hardly any girl enjoys anal sex or finds it lustfull because most women experience it as rather painful and disgusting.
Personally, I refuse it, also because I cannot stop thinking of my **** being the exist of my daily **** and so do most ladies think.
If you, however, enjoy it, keep it up but don't forget to take care of a perfect hygiene and a perfect health.

"Road Trip" merely discusses the concept, not the procedure.

It's probably unwise to try anal sex unless anal stimulation is already part of your lovemaking that you both enjoy. Not just 2 minutes before you first try anal penetration, but for some time before hand. Really, unless you already find that to be erotic you're unlikely to be able to relax about it, and there's no way you're going to actually enjoy it.

Good advice. It's something to build up to over a period of time. Get used to the idea with each other before going for your A levels.

I agree with sleepy here. Personally I think this is the best position and would def be the best for the first time. Its not the mst intimate of positions but lets face it I dont think its better intimacy your after here.

I would advise that your boyfriend wear a condom to be as clean as you possibly can. I think this is pretty important.

Yo have to take it slow. Dont go by a porno movie you once saw. It can be pretty painful for the girl involved so to be very gentle and take things slow. I think thats the best advice I can give you.

Anyway for me it was all just a novelty just like it is for most guys and the novelty wears off pretty quickly in my opinion. The good old fashioned way is far better.

Anyway be safe if you try and enjoy ;)

Well, I disagree. I know quite a few girls who enjoy it and alot of people tend to find "taboos" lustfull.

Guys, someone tell me how it works.

I've tried it with a girl once or twice, each time with a ton of lube, carefulness, pre-preparing, and gentleness. But its just wayyyyy too small.

How an earth does anyone acheive it is beyond me.

Please advise while on the subject! And don't advise using more lube, fingers, etc, because I've done all that with buckets of lube and the finger(s) etc and I guarantee no more could be done.

The last girl I was with wanted to try. I dont really have any interest in it with my current gf and neither does she so we won't be going down that road, but I'd still love to know.

I wouldn't consider it as a taboo and I don't believe that there are lots of girls who enjoy it as you claim, simply because it is painful.
Ever had an endoscopy? It's the same, just that the hose is fatter when anal sex.
And as I think that nobody feels comfortable when having an endoscope for medical reasons, I don't think there are many women who enjoy anal sex and I don't know any woman who finds it lustful.
But of course, I do not doubt that there are some women who enjoy it.

an endoscopy!?! How is it the same? It's a medical procedure. Would you also argue that artificial insemination brings the same levels of arousal/sexual pleasure as intercourse with a loving partner, or a smear test??? Thats a ridiculous argument.

I have had an endoscopy and I had so many happy drugs in me he could have stuffed a bleedin' lamppost into me and I wouldn't have noticed/minded, your point is not at all valid.

People I know who had an endoscopy didn't get any happy drugs.

The nerve endings for the anus and the rectum tie into the central nevrous system in the same places as those for the clit and the vagina.
So for some women they are closely linked to thier pleasure centres and for some they are not.

Theres a drug (which is completely harmless) called poppers, you can buy this in any sex shop which help relax the muscles in the area you need... you basically take a few sniffs from the bottle and presto! :)

Ania - fair enough you don't like the idea of anal, but telling someone who asks for help that "hardly any girl enjoys" it, or that, "women experience it as disgusting" isn't helpful - it's opinionated and biased at best.

    Zulu, But it is true.
I didn't say no woman enjoys it but it's a fact the the majority doesn't really like it.
Longer time ago I read in a magazine for women (I usually hate these magazines but I always have to read them- it's like a drug :D ) that less than 10% of women would ever try anal sex.
(I can't remember the numbers of how many women already tried it out.)
But if you can proove me that most women enjoy anal sex, I obviously will apology for being wrong.

Heart attacks are also quite common in people with cardiac problems, sorry B. but the statement about poppers being harmless is dangerous and HAS to be countered, sorry for off-topicness, but if you feel a ban is more important than setting bad information straight then fire away.

And then a terrible headache. Its worth it for a laugh once on a night out in a pub. You dont get a bad headache unless you sniff the whole bottle. I dont think this is as effective as people think though. Sex toys would be your best bet, maybe not for the big night itself but playing around with toys should get her body used to it, there is one I can think of, I forget what its called but its like a dildo with balls on it that gets wider the further down you go. (almost like a pearl necklace that gets wider) you can start with the small ball at the front and gradually work more in until you have one in that is simialar in size to your partner.

To the OP: Why on earth are you seeking advice on safe & comfortable anal sex on a message board that is nearly entirely made up of MEN?

Google round & find somewhere that have a WOMEN's guide to it.

Most straight men have absolutely no idea what they're talking about on the matter.

It's YOUR a$$ not their ex-girlfriends & they're only telling you what they've been told not what they themselves have experienced!

Please please be don't let this thread be your only reference on the practicalities of anal sex!!

If you're a registered member going unregd for this, pm me & i'll help you look around for somewhere more suitable to get your answers.
