Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    It happens more often than you might think: you have two Office licenses and install the wrong one on a computer. If you activate it, Microsoft will think you moved it to a new computer and it can create problems later on.

    How do you change the installation key without reinstalling Office?

    Close all Office applications that are open. Open the registry editor (Start menu, Run, type regedit)

    Find the following registry key and locate the correct key for the application that needs a new installation key ("CD key").

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration

    The Office suite and any applications you installed individually will each have a registry key, identified by a GUID which resembles this one:
    {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
    Look at the data values for the application name, then delete the two ProductID keys - (DigitalProductID and ProductID).

    Open the application (any of the Office applications if you changed the suite key) and enter the correct CD key. If you already activated Office, you'll need to reactivate it using the correct key.

    If you have more than one Office license, after activating the correct copy on the correct computer, save the activation files and export the Registration registry key. When you reinstall Office, you can use any of your licenses to install it then restore the activation and run the exported *.reg file to restore the correct licensing information on that computer.

    Learn how to back up your Office activation at Tip 53: Saving your Office Activation.

    Saving your Office Activation

    Beginning with some versions of Office 2000, activation is required if you want to continue to use Office applications after 50 uses. You can "save" your activation and restore it without connecting to the activation servers provided your hardware does not change significantly and the installed Office applications are the same.

    Office 2000: Call in and write down the code you are given. It's not date-stamped and you can reactivate using the same code. (Office 2002/2003 codes are date stamped and won't work for a later installation.)

    * Office 2002: Activate over the Internet and save data.dat.
    * Office 2003: Activate over the Internet and save opa11.dat.

    Both files are stored here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA

    [If you can't see the OFFICE\DATA folder, you need to show hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View.]
