What sort of stuff are you selling? I might be interested..

I don't think anywhere will give you a decent price, although they might do marginally better on a trade-in (e.g. exchange for other books in the shop.) Dublin second-hand bookshops are generally a rip-off (compared to for example London.)

I also am trying to sell some books, does anyone have any experience with selling them online? Or is it not worth the effort unless they're rare/first editions/whatever?

Tim 3115....so far have rooted out 50 or so books.... haven't the energy to list them all.

I'd really prefer to get rid of the whole lot in one go and get some new books in return rather than sell them one by one... but thanks for the interest :o

Chapters are probably the best but I have no idea what prices you'll get.

I'd take the energy and try listing them - it could be the difference between €5/book and €0.50/book. You can then always bring the remainder to Chapters (give them a ring and ask what they typically pay, but I would be surprised if it was over €0.50.)

Brought in 5 books to Chapters this am just to see as they wouldn't give me any idea of what they offer for used books over the phone.... they gave me €3 for 4 old paperbacks and €2 for one newish hardback....

closing this thread as it is no longer really suitable for this section of boards . I would copy it over to the for sale board but you have a bit of editing to do to avoid chastisement from those nasty mods they have over there.
