Interesting on the whole DS vs PSP arguement. Looks like japan is going for substance over style - I wonder will Europe?

Also still confirming that the PS2 murders the other two big consoles.

What are the figures in brackets?

Because I thought Dragon Quest VIII was one of the biggest sellers in Japan this year.

My god the xbox is not selling at all really is it?? Anything to do with xbox360 in autumn or has it been this dismal in Japan for microsoft all along?

At a guess I'd say they're probably the total sales including last year for games that came out in december or whatever.

Its always fun to see the Japanese X-Box sales though.

Well it's not surprising. Other than Panzer Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden there is nothing that appeals to the japanese gamer. Microsoft are doing the right thing for the xbox 360 by getting Mistwalker on board.

Nice to see Resi 4 selling well. It's not selling well in Europe because nobody can find any copies of it.

Every time I see Japanese sales figures, I always find it funny that the GBA outsells the Xbox.

The gap between the PSP and the DS is big enough, I guess. 100,000 units apart.

I'd say we'll see a bigger gap here, just because of the delay in launch (people who really want the PSP have imported, people who kind of wanted it may have gotten a DS instead).

The dreamcast was outselling the xbox the last time I checked.

The ds and psp are neck and neck. Ninty are making a lot more money on the ds than sony are on the psp though. Clever old Nintendo.

They had the figures on GameSpot too... The biggest selling PSone game (a re-release of Valkyrie Profile) sold 24,000 copies compared to Fable (the biggest selling Xbox title)'s 12,000...
They really don't like that console.

I reckon the DS will be a dismil failure in Europe.
    Pity.

    lol @ Xbox though.

They really don't like that console.

They sold more copies of fable than they did of the xbox console?!!

12,000 is probably total sales, while 9,000 is xbox sales in the first half of this year.

I'm just glad that the DS is gradually getting some good games, seemed to be a drought there for a couple of months.

Electroplankton, new Castlevania and Lunar games, Katamari Darmacy DS, among other games sound promising.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭weemcd

Ciaran500 i had gathered that

Well I didn't expect that. The DS is storming ahead of not only the PS2 but the PSP as well. I thought it would calm down after the initial burst from Nintendogs, not accelerate.

Anybody know anything about Yawaraka Atama Juku?

    Apparently

22 xboxen sold. Could count that on my toes, fingers and any other extremities I could afford to use.
