I am ashamed and humbled to have to ask this <insert sheepish voice>
I have forgotton my password to one of my dialup accounts, its there as ****** in internet explorer, but thats no use to me. I have a website that i made a while back that i want to update with cuteftp, but the password isn't accepted.

I know i should have written the damn password down, but i didnt. Its the same as the dialup account (ntl) but I cannot remember what the hell it is.
NTLs site doesnt have a "forgotton you're password?" button. Cannot get through to their support line (hold for over an hour).

Is there a registry key anywhere that i can find it out? (running win2k)

I gona send you a little proggy called password theif ... dont'know if it works in w2k though ... you can download it somewher of the next if you dont accept exe in you mail if you like ... it's only 19kb ...

How it works ...

Open the window the ********* password is in
Goto password theif and select that window name ...

Check the list of children windows for that window ...

The children window will display button captions/checkboxes/text captions and edit firels ...

Look @ the list of children for the captions equaling the passwors i.e "&passwors" or "Enter &Password" ... the following "Edit" in the list after say "&password" select the edit feild for that caption ...

Once you have the edit filed selected that matchs you ******** password ... Just click "unmask" button ...

Go back to your origional window and the ******* will be reverted to text ...

It very simple to use once to get the hang og it ... it just hard to explain ...

I just tested it and it works on the Esatclear Surf No Limits Connection window and in CuteFTP v4.0 in the connection manager window under 98 ...

Just though I would add to things ... test it your self on another account that you know the password for and btw the password is encrypted in the registers and window unencrypts it when it puts the ******* in the box for you ...

There are other progames I'm sure for cracking windows based passwords too ...

If that prog doesn't work do a search for one called Revelation

Forgot one of my pop e-mail passwords a few months ago and got it from the ********* field using that
