what is the problem with iol at the minute?

    Fed up with this ****e. Connects take three or four tries, and that's off peak. When I do get a connect, it's slower than Liam Lawlor answering questions at a tribunal. It's IOL gold, so not only am I paying for the privilege of not being able to connect, I'm also paying for the calls whereby I waste money there too.
    Grrrrrrrr.

    IOL seem to have shut down for all practical purposes. There are a few modems at some POPs that still work if you are persistent enough re-dialling (and have deep enough pockets to pay eircom for all the failed call attempts).

    Per bit transmitted and per log-on attempt that actually gets connected they probably were one of the most expensive ISPs on the planet.

    Have you tried using another ISP?
