Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    first of all, does anyone use this service? i really dont want to go back to 56k days and i need a solid connection to the internet. Cable, ADSL and ISDN are out of the question at the moment where I live, and I do have experience in satellite systems overall.

    I have tried to get in touch with this crowd. http://www.web-sat.com/ they seem to operate satellite services in Ireland... but they are slow on replies. is there any other satellite providers in Ireland or even Europe(I'd prefer something local)?

    thanks

    We plan to offer our system late September 2001 to Irish customers.

    Download speeds up to 2mb depending on source of data, internet congestion
    etc. upload speed 64Kbit/s.

    Budgetary price for hardware and software £2,000 + VAT

    Monthly subscription £150 + VAT

    Our service is intended for small companies etc. not private users in areas
    where local cable etc is available.

    The Web-Sat system is not compatible with other satellite dishes - you must
    use the complete Web-Sat system for the product/service to work.
    </font>

    a bit too pricey for my demands, but there's the info if anyone needs it.

    Europeonline are not an ISP, they are just a "High Speed File Delivery Service".

    no, you can download what you want from the net at about 20K-60K sec and recieve shared downloads from other users @ 250K per *stream.

    Many users now share everything they upload to their EON file zone, so you get the latest whatever from the net.

    file sharing is completely #arez and EON just endorsed and paid for the further development of the tool that allows sharing.
