Trying to get ICS working manaully, I read somewhere that i can doa total maual solution by telling the clent to use these DNS numbers for the internet aswell as using the IP of the gateway in the 'Gateways' section of the TCP/IP properties in windows.

    What windows version?
Used to ICS manually configured in both Win2k and Win98SE, if you like i could put up a few screen dumps that i made then (the network boxes and what to fill in)

What the hell, i'm probably going to be to nissed to be charitable later smile.gif

First off, make sure you have "Client for Microsoft Networks selected", and if you are running Win98 there should several references to Internet connection sharing here (only if its the host machine, the capture is from a client)

    syspaka.jpg

Next, i recommend using the client name on the client pc (ie that pc's network name), it should point to the host pc's addy though, which in ICS will always be 192.168.0.1 (HAS to be)

    syspakc.jpg

Your host pc should be assigned an address of 192.168.0.1, and the clients, 192.168.0.2/3/4 etc, subnet should be as in the pic.

    syxpakb.jpg

And lastly, set your default gateway to the host pcs addy.

    syxpakd.jpg

The principles are the same in all m$ OS's that can use ICS, just fill in the equivalent boxes. Good luck smile.gif
