    Electronic Arts and Eurogamer are happy to announce that next week we're going to kill you all. Or, more likely, you're going to kill all of us.

    Next Thursday, 21st July, between 7pm and 9pm, those of you who own Battlefield 2 are invited to join us for a 32 versus 32 game on an official EA European server, where the likes of Sentience, myself and others will be beating each other up to gain control of a helicopter.

    EA staff will be teaming up with the far more skilled Eurogamer staff, and you lot are encouraged to band together and blow chunks out of us as much as you possibly can. We expect you're quite good by now.

    Specific details will be announced on the day, and obviously there will be a certain amount of turnover on the server at intervals to accommodate the huge numbers of people who want to shoot us in the head. It should be a fun event, and we hope you'll pop along if you're around and help us all get our war on.

    So it's the UK staff (not the people who work on the patch) hosting the game. The 'away' team get's kicked after every map to make room for the next round of players waiting to connect.

    If we knife them enough they'll probably be a patch the next day taking knives out of the game.

    ...which will instead remove all rifles, replace player models with tetris shapes, reset your bios, crash your mouse and launch minesweeper instead of the server browser, requiring a hotfix.

    how about constantly jumping and proning, maybe they'll realise their efforts on the realism front went totally balls up.

    Bah, if realism is what you want then to enter a tank you would have to climb up the side, hop in through the hole in the turret, start up the engine, all taking about two minutes. You would need more than one to drive/aim it.
