well, you sound very negative, there are lots of people want to learn Chinese. It will be the most important language in the near future. The price is very reasonable and much cheaper compare the value!!

well, it is only the situation at this moment, because they joined EU lately. Some other people see things in the long run. Lots of places and countries need Chinese.

Not everything in the world is about making money.

Some people have hobbies and languages (particularily chinese) just happens to be one of mine.

    Practicality doesn't nessicarily mean happiness.

well I know I wouldn't like to have you as a 'Chinese' teacher if you're taking digitally-yours' first comment as a racist statement! Though I suppose digitally-yours should be somewhat clearer in what he/she was saying...Also, stating "It will be the most important language in the near future", isn't exactly the kind of attitude I'd like a language teacher to have. One more thing, I'm assuming it's Mandarin you're teaching when you say chinese, 'cos cantonese is also considered as 'chinese', which is also, in fact, harder to learn than Mandarin!

kudos! "Practicality doesn't nessicarily mean happiness."
Though majority of today's society may portray it, commercialism and making money isn't everyone's priority!
