car trouble

    my car starts no problem and drives no bother
    but when im pullin up at traffic light or slowing down
    the car goes dead!!

    i noticed that the revometer goes crazy at this point shaking up and down then it cut out
    got any ideas on the cause

    Not sure. Dodgy carb? Dodgy clutch?

    Perhaps you have some clutch control issues :p

    Assuming the car was made in the last 10 years or so, its probably the idle sensor.

    hope its not the clutch as that was replaced 2 months ago
    its not a saab
    its a nissan almera 1.4 petrol 5 door 97

    its usually a small sensor that needs to be changed it only takes a minutes to do

    Idle speed sensor needs to be cleaned or replaced. Common problem on cars but for some reason a garage cant figure this out. Also get a full service including changing the fuel filter.

    I would bet money its a sensor. It will take 30 mins to fix
