Strange one here, anyone know if any dealers in NI have .455 ammo available? Guess this depends on whether many people up there have them I suppose.

We have two members in NITSA with 455 Webleys, major problems geting ammo, from memory they were using 45 Long Colt trimed back, I will try to dig up a bit more info for you

    Damn. :(

I've always quite liked the idea of getting a Mk VI, and they're not too expensive it seems. Fiocchi manufacture it still I understand and Hornady make the brass, but I'd say there's little demand for it.

They can seemingly be converted to 45acp, so that might be an avenue worth exploring.

"Hold Fire" for a few days I will make a few calls and see what is available, there are lots of .455 in NI so bits and pieces should be available.

Do a google on 455 ammo.I am sure there are TWO companies that make ready use Webly 455 ammo .One is in the USA and specialises in old and weird calibres for cowboy action shooting. The other is in Aussie.I'll trawl my ammo companies file and see what I can get for you as well.

Fiocchi seems to be the only commerical maker doing this
They list it 455 Webley 262 grain lead round nose at $30 a box for 50 rounds.
A pretty expensive beast these days.
OTOH the dies and reloading equipment seems plentiful enough for it.

On that topic, anyone know if there are any developments on the reloading front?

I had heard rumours previosuly that the situation was to be regularised.

Would you not reload brass ???

I would, if a long chat with the Gardai (without tea or biscuits), and potentially picking up a criminal record wasn't on the agenda.

mmmmmmm tis an economical option, in regards to the legal implications this I dunno as I was under the impression that it was but alas not.

Would make life easier for me although, well good luck and have you contacted Smiths in Newry as they are very good at sourcing ammo, I regularly now get my Shotgun Sabot Slugs from them.
