    Hi,

Doing up my garden and looking for recommendations on landscape contractors. It's basically a, er, wild meadow look at the moment (i.e. knee high weeds). Roughly 14mx7m. I've a fair idea what I want to do with it (in terms of patio, lawn, beds, look, etc.) so I'm looking more for somebody to do the work than to come up with a design from scratch. Ideally it would be somebody who could also build/subcontract a shed at the bottom of the garden. I'm in Drumcondra.

    I've already had a look though http://www.landscapecontractors.ie/.

Anybody here had any good/bad experiences with landscape contractors they'd like to share?

    Hi Again (!),
I hired a company to do work on the front and rear of my house. the total price of the job was 22K of which 16 was paid in advance. the job was to take 3 weeks. After seven weeks no aspect of the job was complete and too many problems with the work carried out. Contractor left the site like a tip. I'm putting up a website shortly, but in the meantime if you would like further information please leave me your email address. I'm also seeking advice on how to make other potential customers aware of the pitfalls of hiring from the web and relying on information posted by those seeking 'business'. Any advice?

BTW does anyone out there have any information on the 'registered business name' Eoin Healy Landscapers?

It's on the CRO.ie web site (Landscaping instead of Landscapers)

You paid over 70% of the cost of the job up front. Hiring/researching on the web is not the main problem.

I'd take this over to the consumer issues section of boards if I were you as you'll probably get a better response there.

A warning to others don't hand over this sort of money if your only dealings have been over the web. Check out the business properly make sure that it exists and look up the number in the phone book and make sure it is the same business. Fmansions I recon you were hit by a conman posing as eoin.
