    A few friends and I are thinking of heading down to Dubrovnik for about a week this summer to relax on the beaches and chill out. Can anyone who has been there let me know what they thought of it - Prices, nightlife, whether it gets thronged by hubble-telescope wielding Americans etc.?

    I was in Zagreb myself for a day last year interrailng, so I wouldn't have a bother about going to the Balkans, The above site is one of the best ones out there on Dubrovnik. I have way more interest in what fellow travellers have to say about a place than whats in the guidebooks. The lonelyplanet.com discussion boards are a good place to lurk in for this kind of info. smile.gif

    I'm not sure how well tourism has recovered in Crotia. I have heard of people going. I suspect you would mostly find Germans and other northern Europeans, few Americans - but I don't know. Take a look at http://dubrovnik.laus.hr/
