Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was thinking of heading over to a liverpool game around Sept - Oct time and the Chelsea game on the 2nd Oct looks a good one. Anyone know if I book the plane and hotel now should I have any problems getting tickets when they go on sale?

you should be able to get a package deal which will include tickets flights and accomodation. would be an easier way of making sure you get tickets. I'd say there will be big demand on tickets for that game

Dont really want to go the package route. Flights with Ryanair work out at €420 for the four of us, which I tink is more than reasonable. We are going on Friday and coming back monday, anyone have any suggestions for a reasonable and cheap hotel? I stayed in one on albert dock around 5 years ago when I went to anfield for the newcastle game and it was something like stg£35 for a room per night.

As far as getting tickets, I'm going to get them online on the Liverpool site, just not sure if they sell out instantly and are hard to get.

U might find it hard to get tickets for that game mate unless your a member of the PTS.

Have u got a fancard? u need a fancard to book tickets online as far as i know.

As far as hotels go, campanile is cheap enough, 45 pounds a room a night. its on the dock road and right beside the Casino which all the players use although seen as u'll be there in around gametime don't think they'll be there much! :D

Yah I got a fancard when I joined the supporters club. As far as I can read from the site it says they get sold online and then two days later whats left go on general release.

    PTS?

you could try this site for hotels
    http://www.liverpoolhotels.com/

or you could just try googling it yourself and see what you can find, im sure there's plenty of info online

Yeah I found the travelodge, its £46 a night so I think I'll go with that. Just the tickets left now.

PTS is priority ticket scheme, u get option on tickets first with this. its somethin like 60 or 70 quid a year i think but there's a waiting list.

It's just with the big games, pts members usually take their tickets and there might not be any left to go on general sale.

THe PTS is closed according to the website. I have my fancard and am an e-season ticket holder. Booked flights and hotels yesterday so just need to organise 4 tickets when they get sold. Unfortunatley I have to wait till mid sept to find out whether I get any.

Was also thinking of driving to Manchester to catch the City - Everton game on the saturday, anyone know how to go about getting tickets for City home games and if there is much demand?

sorry thought i said to you already that there is a waiting list for the PTS.

I'd be doubtful whether the chelsea tickets will ever go onto general sale ste, might have to go down the tout route

The siter says that there are 5000 PTS tickets, 500 for e-season ticket holders. how many season tickets are there? surely not 39000? So there should be a few tickets for the online sales?

    Stekelly,

Check out my site for Irish Liverpool Fans the link is in my signature, over 300 members loads of us travel over a few times a year.We have a list of hotels etc,and the lads may be able to help with tickets.

There are close to that in season tickets.

You've gotta remember that every player gets 4 tickets from first team to academy.

Even people working in the clubshop get comp tickets, then you take away your away tickets.

Chelsea last year didn't get close to general sale

I havent read the replies but my mate does it every now and again, books a flight/hotel and goes up to the stadium early in the morning always gets a ticket,

also head into the local bars and get talking with the lads that are going they might have spares. Best bet it close to the stadium

yeah getting to the ground early isa good shout as it means that u can get some returns if there is any.

For the Chelsea game last year (the champions league semi) there were some spares being sold in the pub but they were goin from between 600 and 1000 sterling but for league games the prices should be more reasonable.

That is a Yahoo problem sometimes you cannot post for a while (a couple of hours) it happens about once a month,I think they do be doing work and you can only view posts for a while.

    Keep trying.

To be honest, there's not a chance in hell of the Chelsea game going to general sale. I have the e-season ticket too, its handy, but their system isn't the best and it tends to crash quite a lot. Don't worry if its not working as soon as they go on sale, just keep trying throughout the day and it should be fine.
