Trying to sell my car - see the Audi A4 in the for sale section, and I continually get calls from sales people (saying they are) from http://www.vehiclecenter.co.uk/.

They want €99.99 up front from my credit card and will then get buyers to call me up.

Naturally I assume this is a scam and have not given any details - but out of curiosity has anyone ever heard or dealt with these people?

Off of the CBG website I assume... called them (cbg) and they said they'd never heard of them and to be very wary as there are hundred of these English outfits now operating in the south..!?

Not sure .. they event spelt out the end so that there was no confusion, I think to the innocent a website can lend a lot credibility - not knowing that a template can be bought and a domain registered for a few yo yos these days... also if you're desperate ( not yet :o ) to sell you're car you might ignore the alarm bells.

Based on what you've said , the fact that they only seem to have a UK mobile number, apparently very few or no pictures and the stilted English on the web site I'd be inclined to keep my money.

I definately think this is a scam.

My father has his own business and has an advertisment in the goldenpages. If he had €1 for every call he got from people with all sorts of accents wanting him to advertise with them for a small fee or something else, he would be a millionare by now. He can get up to three or four calls a day like this. He just laughs at them at this stage.

This is more likely a credit card scam.

Oh, they might just be pushy!

http://www.ukdata.com/creditreports/viewCompanyDetails.do;jsessionid=5114BFDDB88EB6045DD387FEAEAA73DF?companyId=05380888 Lots of changes of directors. Different address.
    Registrant's Address:

    Also at that address http://www.ukdata.com/company-listings/numbers/04666401.html

I'm guessing its subdivided into flats or similar for plausible deniability. The post codes don't match / or the post code is deliberately different to the address.

    You also have

    THE VEHICLE CENTRE LTD.
    THE VEHICLE CENTRE (THANET) LIMITED
    ANGLIA VEHICLE CENTRE LIMITED
    THE BUSINESS VEHICLE CENTRE LTD.

And/or it could be a front for the scammers that send you an dud check for your car, including shipping. At least now they are guarenteed $100.

btw, is the address actually valid, it has been known for scammers to use addresses that would have to place a building in the middle of an intersection or hte 12th floor of a 2 story building.

Anyway, even if they are legit and you are not hapy going that way, just add them to your spam list. end of story.

It appears to exist, that other company has an address there and the street does exist, but I can't get a photo.

    The other company
    2 MOUNTVIEW COURT
    3 10 FRIERN BARNET LANE
"3 10" might be a typo and should be "310" or alternatively means "Flat 3 Number 10"
