Looking for media workers

I've recently been looking into the idea of a mini-series podcast (perhaps 6 parts or so) which covers different aspects of media in Ireland.
The show would consist of interviews with media workers from different parts of the industry, from PR's to Journalists to Marketing workers to Ad men etc.
I haven't really thought too deeply into the whole thing but I have easy access to a radio studio to record the whole thing (in person or over the phone) and I plan on looking into the details of podcasting as time goes on.

What else I'll have on the show is still undecided, but I'd like the show to act as an introduction to Irish media by voices within the industry. Sort of a starting point for people who don't know but who want to know. Would certainly be useful for students like myself and if things went well could lead to a bigger concept in the future.

Anyway, what I'd like to get is as many media workers as possible to see if I'd have enough material to work from. So if you work in the media and are willing to talk about what you do, why you do it and how you got there, please PM me and we can see if the idea is a flyer.
If you have any ideas for the show, please post them here too.

    Thanks

    Adam

Yo, I just got my Journalism HND 3 weeks ago. As part of my course I worked with various people in the Journalism sector, such as RTE Senior Producer Colm Keane (who's married to Ursula who does the 6-1 news sometimes on RTE One) as well as a couple of freelance journalists and Film Maker and Radio Documentarian Michael Carolan. Id be happy to share my experience with you, and help out, and im sure I could get some information from the people I was taught from since I have all their contact details. Let me know, but id be interested in getting involved and helping out with the program. I also have access to a radio station in which the program could be partially recorded in conjuction with yours.

Just finishing the MA in DIT at the moment (writing a dissertation).

Would love to help if you're looking for the jobseeker angle. I'm no radio specialist but did the module during the course and can put together a worthy package if need be.

I've had a fair amount of interest from some very diverse aspects of media so far, which is exactly what I wanted.

Any more interested parties, please get in touch with me. I currently have enough to go ahead with a strong series of shows but there's always room for more, and as I keep saying, the beauty of podcasting is that I don't have to limit myself to a number of shows or show lengths.

Do you live in Dublin? If so, why not approach Anna Livia with the idea of doing it as a show? You could do a 6-12 part series.

Let me know if you're interested, I worked there for a year and one of my friends still does, I'd say you'd get slot no problem in the next reshuffle

Check in with me if you're interested, I know Fr Ted knows his way around RTE but theres a few post production, directors, prime time producers I know who's direction I could point you, or if you're interested in print I've a mate sub editing in a regional paper, and a sister in RTE PR.

As the post above is, I'm wondering how you're getting on with it. I've done the HND thing, worked in many station bla bla bla but I've now had the delightful experience of having worked for two publications in marketing, event managment and ad sales. Hope ya don't lose faith in it, good idea like

Really sorry about not getting back to some people about this.
the project fell on it's arse when I realised just how much work there was to do and how little time I had to do it (as I was heading to the UK to finish my degree).

Anyway, the whole thing will be on a hiatus for another few months at which point I hope to put my head down and get loads done, but don't expect anything until June.
Thanks to everybody who got in touch to offer support, ideas, help and everything else, I will be pestering you all again soon to see if you're still interested.
I kind of had a choice to put together 6 or so average casts or wait, prepare and plan and get a good long series of really enjoyable and diverse shows with (hopefully) support from traditional radio stations like Anna Livia too.

    Thanks again.
