Isn't it great? People are trying to ban EVERYTHING. It's hard to imagine a more inoffensive game than the Sims (apart from in kiddie-land). But, of course, don't this kind of person, the 'concerned mother' (even if he is a man) find anything that's even slightly non-heterosexual disgusting?
So, let's ban every game that isn't about fluffy bunnies. It'll be better for the kids. They won't be exposed to crazy ideas like homosexuality or nudity. Just violence, on television.

Well this guy is out to get the US economy destroyed. Killing off everything, next it will be CSI, then Law and Order, then to the daytime shows like judge judy, and dr phil because they talk about sext or portray these things. How many kids these days dont understand sex by about 12? And worse still how many kids are tucked up in bed over the summer. This guy has some really big issues and its not with these games.

You make a very good point, but I disagree. If you remove the blur, all you get is a mannequin - no genitalia. The same thing you'd get in a shop. Should we ban them? They come in children versions too...
And if you have to edit it to make it pornographic, then it's not the game makers' fault. Someone could make a mod for... let's say Operation Flashpoint, featuring lots of naked people. Should Operation Flashpoint thus be banned? If so, you are banning every game - or at least evry game that can be modified. And if you look at the mod scenes for games, if you look at all that creativity, can you say that's something you want to wipe out?

There was a cheat for Sims 1, also, for nakedness. The only thing was, men and women had no bits. Nothing at all.

id be more worried about peoples tendencies to create and cultivate serial killers in the sims. i had a serial starver, hed invite people over then brick them into a wallspace and let them starve to death, then if that wasnt all he would sell their gravestone.
another one was my black widow, inviting the men over getting them to move in (cash cash cash) then killing them off in some inventive way.

Try googling this guy (Jack Thompson)...he's had a bee in his bonnet about computer games for years now.
He "predicted" the columbine massacre 8 days before it happened (shame he never told anyone :rolleyes: ) and preemptively blamed games for that.
Then during the Washinton DC sniper thing a few years back, he came out with a sweeping statement that the guy doing the shooting had probably trained on FPS type games with a sniper rifle Turned out the guy was trained by the US military...but no-one wants to ban them...

I really fail to see what could be wrong with the Sims (not my cup of tea at all mind)...if modders want to release packs to make it x-rated, how is that the fault of the publisher/developer?
This idiot doesn't seem to grasp the difference and claims that modders and devs are in cahoots...when was the last time you paid for a mod? Exactly.

i always find these stories funny. just watch bowling for columbine, altho i hate michael moore he was right that bowling could b used as a cause for the shooting as much as games or music (Marilyn Manson wasnt it?) but nobody wants to blame that
