Ok. thinking of selling up - only if it's worth it.

    All these parts.
Coolermaster Wavemaster Silver w/ bolt-on side window
    AMD Venice 3800+ 2.4ghz
    OCZ PC5000 DFI nF4 Special 1gb
    DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
    XFX 6800GT 256mb PCI-E (x2)
    Audigy 2 ZS
    Pioneer DVD+-RW 109
    Plextor 716A DVD+-RW
    Western Digital Raptor 36.6gb (x2 - RAID 0)
Enermax Noisetaker 600W SLi Edition PSU
    Zalman CNPS 7000CuLED

This system currently holds the 3dMark05 crown on boards.ie as seen here
I just want to get idea's on what people think it's worth.

    Cheers.

Dude why would you bother selling it..

Are you gonna build a new one completely or your just giving up on that scene?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,762 ✭✭✭WizZard

Maybe build new ;) Dunno yet. Working on a case mod at the mo' - it may take a while so I thought of selling whilst I'm working on it ;)

Split it up, come on u no u want to :D , it will be a legend day in the for sale forum, do it - do it :p. U may even end up getting more than if u sold it as a unit.

Surely you would be better off keeping the likes of the raptors, PSU, DVD-RW, motherboard and sound card for your next rig?

The Wavemaster kept all that stuff cool? Or did you w/c some things?

I'd say it'd be worth about €2000, that's just a guess though. That RAM is pretty fancy though, so maybe up it to €2100/2200?
    There or abouts anyway.

    All air-cooled! ;)

    @Endurance Man
I would split if it were feasible, but I'd probably be left with something.

    @jesus_thats_gre
Nah, gonna start fresh again! ;)

Woooot  . That sounds a tad off, or am i wrong?? Im guessing this has been overclocked. 2200 is just crazy IMO.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,808 ✭✭✭Dooom

2200 might be a bit too high, but still I'd say 2000 is justifiable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,141 ✭✭✭masteroftherealm

It does sound off but when ya take in what ya'd buy them seperatly for......

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,762 ✭✭✭WizZard

Yeah, looks like €2.1k is the current market price. Wouldn't sell for that so I'll prob run them for a while longer. :(

    @masterofthereal
Those prices are in Euro, not dollars, right? The mobo and case prices are a little low don't you think? Or are they ex. vat?

    ! ;)

I dont think youd be left with anything dude as its all pretty quality gear, i can guarentee u everything would sell, i for onw would take the ram and probably mobo + psu for a decent price ;) , and the 6800's would sell straight away

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,141 ✭✭✭masteroftherealm

Hmmm seee the mobo has been OC'd and the case is gettin kinda old skool is it not? Thoase are just off my head prices!!(in euros, with VAT)

Surely all the overclocking that has gone on :p , drops the price of the components a bit?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,630 ✭✭✭gline

no - the parts he has are designed for overclocking, the cpu should be the only thing that declines a lot in value because of overclocking. the memory and mobo are designed for it and the other parts except gfx arent really affected by it at all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,240 ✭✭✭Endurance Man

    Ahh, alrighty.
Man i gotta learn how to overclock one of these days :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,762 ✭✭✭WizZard

To have what I have a NOT overclock would be a travesty!

And yes, they are designed to be overclocked, even to the extent that on stock settings some things run crap!

well the ocz has an over voltage protection, meens warrenty covers more voltage basically and everyone knows dfi mobos are desgined to be used to overclock

Just has a quick look at overclockers.co.uk and shop4memory.com. They main components exclusing fans, cables etc can be bought for in or around 2300 euro new..

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,762 ✭✭✭WizZard

Yeah. I arrived at a figure roughly €150 more than that. I'd sell for €2.2k but no less.
Oh well... I suppose I'll have to live with this ancient technology for a while.. :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,808 ✭✭✭Dooom

I know someone who's looking for a new rig, I'll mention it to him and get back to you. Wouldn't hold your breath though, he might be after something new.

Anyway, at least if you don't sell it I'll have a chance to rob your 3dMark crown...although just looking at my spec now I'm not sure if it'll be possible :(
I'll sure as hell try though.

I'd like to know what and how could he go higher spec???
It's kick ass components....can you go higher?

phase change - fx57 or X2 4800 and 2 x 7800's or the new crossfire platform. there is always room for improvment ;)
