laptop with GPS receiver

Anyone any experience using a laptop with GPS receiver and software? Thinking of getting one. Receivers are approx €66, maps are €36 and laptop charger for car €57. (€159 total) Compares with €410 for GPS portable for car.

That would be one large map if it was on a laptop screen.

Would be very orkward. If you are in & out of your car a lot waiting for your laptop to start up & shut down. Your laptop would be on a seat ,very hard to keep your eyes on.
I have a nice GPS system for sale here if your interested..
