OT: 10.30 in the morning? WTF

Yes I know but since we where talking about The Offside Show I thought I would mention it.

10:30AM I am guessing is to make it more like the Sky Sports show that the Offside Show is based on/copied etc.

Whats worse is that it is followed by Mass at 11:30. I have nothing againist mass but I think this is a real case of very bad scheduling. The show should be on RTE TWO not RTE ONE.

Hopefully these guys http://www.channel6.ie will go FTA on Astra 28.2.....
    ...

The service will be retransmitted on the Sky Digital Platform and will be included in the Sky basic television subscription package.

A closer look at the item you quoted reveals the answer....

Wouldn't it be great it this were true ? Somehow I don't think so, do you ?

The big news of course is this:
Channel 6 will be carried on the NTL and Chorus analogue and digital platforms throughout the State as part of their basic television subscription package.

Analogue? This wasn't announced before, and is a big coup for them if they have signed an analogue carrige deal. It will mean they will be able to be regarded as a mainstream channel as opposed to just a digital one. City Channel are only going to be available on digital, and Setanta are only on NTL analogue. This will certainly be a major new competitor, if this news is true (and I see no reason to doubt a BCI press release, at this point.)

    Small correction, boss. :)

Setanta are also on NTL digital. Channel 401.

Yeah, analogue placement on cable is VERY important. Since there probably isn't any spare room, something will have to go. Any ideas what it might be ?

Waterford will probably lose its Euromix channel

I wonder would NTL Dublin use a UHF channel, amongst those duplicates of E4, Discovery and Channel 4.

Micheal Murphy (Channel Six) and David Harvey (City Channel) where on the Last Word with Matt Copper.

Channel Six will be available on Analogue and Digital.

Will it get 105 or 106?

Does NTL get money for carrying E4 and Sky One?

No, they actually have to pay for them, and quite a hefty amount too!

I thought that. I guess that they might get rid of UTV from the analogue service. I am sure ITV would like to see that. :)

Why do you need UTV when you have TV3?

It seems like the most obivous choice to me.

of course but TV3 still do not show everything that ITV does

That's not to say that ITV would like to get rid of UTV from the ROI.

I mean primetime on TV3 is getting towards 50% of ITV's prime time.

I know you'd miss The Bill, Mossy.

Setanta are also on NTL digital. Channel 401.

Bad phrasing on my part!!! What I meant to say was...

"Setanta are only available in analogue format via NTL, they are available via digital on NTL, Chorus, and Sky".

Not the same thing I realise...

Are there definitely duplicates of CH4 and Discovery on air ?

I have never been able to see them though that might be because the frequencies I have seen for them are right beside RTE off Three Rock.

Incidently I don't know if it is connected to not getting CH4 and Discovery but the E4 signal is very weak and grainy
