    ...are kicking off Irish Anti War Movement's build up for Septembers Shannon Peace Festival.

    Come on down to whelans on August 12th and bring all your friends!!

    The use of Shannon by the US war machine continues despite the clear rejection by the people of Ireland against this Government inspired decision. There are no moral or indeed less importantly financial benefits to the state for this complicity in the deaths of over 100,000 Iraqi's or the destruction of their country's infrastructure. In fact as the recent news article posted on this site states this Government policy is actually costing us (the tax payer) euro10,000/day.
    The focus has come off Shannon in recent months and as a movement we need to address this. Many artists & activists throughout the country are lending their support, time & energies to the Shannon Peace Festival project, we hope you will too.

    Our demand is very clear - US MILITARY OUT OF SHANNON.
