Woo hoo ppl are getting hooked on veronica mars - shay, back me up on this (i think iain has been known to dabble in it too - good tv).

Woo hoo going to a party, catching up with lots of friends i haven't seen in a while and meeting new peeps.

Woo hoo being a little (ok, lot) tipsy, the world is a funny spinny place after a few(ok, lots) drinks. Tmw i may suffer, right now i enjoy the spinning..... woot.

(yeah,i'll prob post a "i'm dying with the hangover" post tmw in the rant bitch thread, so memo to self - i may be dying when i read this again sometime Sunday - but remember, i had fun Sat night. And, sometimes, it's good to let go and have some silly, drunken fun.

I've seen them all too. I have Rob Thomas' (vm creator) homepage saved in the 'sad fangirl' folder in my bookmarks.

thats pretty sad, i'll give you that. its a grand ole show but i would be fanatical about it, nice to see its getting another season.... though the end of s02 was just plain odd.....

What's it about, and am I missing much? I'll only watch it if it's as good as/better than vintage (ie early seasons of) Buffy/Angel/The X Files (the holy trinity).

Watched the first episode. Was semi-interesting. I wouldn't put it over any other drama at the moment. I'm a big fan of One Tree Hill at the moment, but for me Firefly is still the best show in the last few years.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,579 ✭✭✭Pet

One Tree Hill? For shame. *shakes head*

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

Pfft, rich coming from someone who dares mention Buffy/Angel in the same breath as the sacred X-Files.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

lol all 3 shows are pants in his holy trinity firefly ftw! though i am taking a liking to nip tuck, started watching that any show that's full 3 way's with lesbians , porn stars and supermodels can't be bad eh? :)

The X Files is not pants, it's absolutely savage and I will destroy anyone who suggests otherwise.

How did nothing make sense? The science always checked out (although I remember some of Scully's comments about prion disease being a bit out of date when I watched it last year, though you can hardly fault that, a lot was learned in 5 years during the CJD scare), and the stories blended perfectly. I watched it starting when I was 8, and I understood it just fine, and even then, right from the start, it was my favourite programme (although, watching it again these days is like watching a new programme, there was a lot that an 8 year old just couldn't get).

As you said, you just didn't watch it enough or with full attention. The quality would be lost on dumbasses or people with short attention spans.

If you thought that a fictional programme about the paranormal would always be 100% scientifically valid, you are the idiot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

You're both idiots. I'm going to see Tool in about 43 hours. Boo-ya!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,579 ✭✭✭Pet

If it wasn't in France and I still couldn't go, I bet you'd ring me during the concert to gloat. Oh well. I'll get one up on you some day, John Kealy!

*wonders if John2 would stoop to making an international concert-gloat-call*

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

I'm not going to make a gloat call because I'm not really gloating and would prefer to have as many friends there as possible to wallow in the Toolness. Not Kevin though, he wouldn't get it.

A lady known as Paris, Romantic and Charming
Has left her old companions and faded from view

Lonely men with lonely eyes are seeking her in vain
Her streets are where they were, but there's no sign of her

    She has left the Seine

The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
I heard the laughter of her heart in every street café

The last time I saw Paris, her trees were dressed for spring,
And lovers walked beneath those trees and birds found songs to sing.

I dodged the same old taxicabs that I had dodged for years.
The chorus of their squeaky horns was music to my ears.

The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
No matter how they change her, I'll remember her that way.

I'll think of happy hours, and people who shared them
Old women, selling flowers, in markets at dawn

Children who applauded, Punch and Judy in the park
And those who danced at night and kept our Paris bright

    'til the town went dark.

Is that yours, cause if it is what is it meant to be? It dosn't fit the structure of a gazal.

If its not yours, you need to atribute it to someone.
