Woohoo..back from Edinburgh, where I saw many plays, walked hundreds of miles over and back through the city, and saw the Dresden Dolls twice (they're as good as ever). My friend got her boobs signed by them! (I have no boobs and had to make do with a signed stomach. I would post pictures, but hmm, effort, and whoreness..)

As is Serenity, which I saw for the first time tonight. Utterly, utterly brilliant film. If only my failed Hard Drive hadn't eaten all the DVD-quality Firefly I had stored. Oh well. C'est la vie. Still, it was kinda fun to remind myself I can actually tinker with a computer and not destroy it! Oh. Positive outlook despite bad thing (all the lovely data going bye-bye) happening. That's new. I like this. I'd like to file for permission to call that a "Woo-Hoo". In triplicate you say? Oh I can do triplicate. I do intend to work in the Civil Service after all....

Recommend you this 'V for Vendetta'? Watched it must be so. I have heard much good about it from a friend. But he's 6ft 7 so by the time the sound reaches me, it's all garbled. Also, while I'm here, everyone must read 'The Sandman' by Neil Gaiman. I've only read one of the books but it's amazing.

Cool, will do. That is, once I come by the financial wherewithal to do so. Still, at least I have all those episodes of 'Earthworm Jim', 'Invader Zim' and 'The Grim Adventures of Bill & Mandy' to watch. Oh yeah. Yes, I like cartoons too much. Problem?

Also, if you like Zim I'm sure you know about JTHM. Read 'Squee' and also 'Lenore' by Roman Dirge who was an animator/writer on 'Zim'. It's about a dead girl who doesn't accept that she's dead. Brilliant stuff. Especially the 'Got your nose!' gag.

Ironically, I was given the anthology of 'Lenore' by my ex girlfriend as a present as she couldn't find a 'Squee' anthology at the time. It is very good stuff indeed. Remind me some time and I'll lend it to you.

Oh the grim adventures are brilliant. All I will say is: The Grim Reaper is in it. And he's Jamaican.

Yes, I agree. Serenity is very definitely the pair of cuddly nightwear designed for kittens. Also good is 'Trinity Blood'. It's a Japanese anime show I have become very fond of. Vampires, the Vatican, consistent historical references, robots and sheer unadulterated violence. What's not to love?

I've started pimping my Electric picnic tent - images attached still needs touching up - also anyone know any sort of tape that'll stick reasonably long term on tent material?

as an aside, better than trinity blood is blood+ - i find trinity blood a tad bit of a pain cus i had low quality versions. also half the characters are very very hollow. watch blood+.

You can get the resealable stickers for tent in the great outdoors type places. It'll stick onto the tent (and be waterproof) so I assume that it'd stick to your poster

Oooh, that's a pretty funky looking spray-on thing. I just don't get festivals. To my mind, we built civilisation to get away from the outdoors. But, you know, different strokes...

The Trinity Blood I have is very good quality. True, it can go from introduction of a character to meaningful emotional relationship and back again very quickly. But generally the plot is fairly strong. It is also incredibly stylish. That, and who can't love characters called Vaclav Havel and William Wordsworth?! I think it's fairly creative. What's this Blood+ all about eh?
